A Beautiful Noise – The Neil Diamond Musical at Saenger Theatre

A Beautiful Noise will be performing live this time at the Saenger Theatre on Saturday 15th November 2025! The life and work of Neil Diamond are the subject of a brand-new Broadway musical. His greatest hits, including "Cracklin' Rosie," are all featured in the production, which will be performed by an exceptional cast under the guidance of Will Swenson.

The story follows an anxious Jewish artist from Flatbush, whose family name is called Diamond. As he grows up, he finds his feet as a performer at the Bitter End in Greenwich Village, continuing to sign a record deal that comes back to haunt him, and as years pass by, he walks away from one marriage after another. "Amid all that, Diamond evolves into a globe-trotting, sequin-wearing, arena-playing star,” The Guardian shares.

According to prior reports, singer-songwriter Neil Diamond-Then will be played by Tony nominee Will Swenson, who most recently played in the Off-Broadway revival of Assassins. Neil Diamond-Now will be played by Mark Jacoby, Robyn Hurder as Marcia, while Linda Powell is cast as the Doctor.

The creative team comprises Highly regarded director esteemed director Michael Mayer, four-time Oscar nominee Anthony McCarten, and Critically acclaimed choreographer choreographer Steven Hoggett. The musical will have scenic design by award-winning scenic designer David Rockwell, lighting design by four-time Tony winner Kevin Adams, costume design by renowned costume designer Emilio Sosa, and sound design by esteemed sound designer Jessica Paz.

"It is initially a hit parade within a dramatic showcase of Diamond’s 1960s beginnings in the first act, which is subtly followed by a second act that is set of sequined, post-1960s concerts spliced with portraits of a broken marriage and lonely childhood, and then a denouement of hardcore emotional resolve,” the review continues.
