Big Thief are, technically speaking, a band. But if you simply just called them a group of musicians, you wouldn’t be too far off, either. For the most part, each member has spent the past few years releasing solo music, but now they are being sheltered back inside -- it’s time for Big Thief, the band, to take all precedence. Tickets for their show at the Saenger Theatre this Halloween are on sale now, so don’t miss out!
Ever since the release of their debut album, Masterpiece, Big Thief has been touring at an almost relentless pace. To date, the band has released five studio albums between 2016 and 2022, and toured nearly that entire time. This year, Big Thief are headed out on yet another massive tour across North America with a staggering 20 shows planned. They’ll be performing at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana this Halloween, so make sure you’ve got your tickets. They’re on sale now… don’t be late!
While there is still no news on when we will be getting new music from them, Big Thief are gearing up for yet another series of shows, the Somersault Slide 360 Tour. The band will be heading out on a series of nearly two dozen shows across the United States, with one extra special date in Mexico City. The tour starts this September, but you can catch them at their New Orleans show at the Saenger Theatre. Seriously, you can’t miss this, so don’t! With five phenomenal albums and four Grammy nods under their belt, Big Thief is one of the biggest names in indie folk music right now. The band, formed in 2015, has made themselves quite the impressive catalogue of music, with each individual member also indulging in some solo activities. Speaking of, the members of Big Thief have been getting up to quite a lot of solo music adventures since their last joint record released in 2022, frontwoman Adrianne Lenker especially. She just recently released her sixth solo album, Bright Future, in 2024. Now, although no new music has been announced, the band is setting back out on tour for yet another string of shows. The first show will be at Channel 24 in Sacramento, California on September 17th, and the tour will come to a close on November 7th in Houston, Texas at the White Oak Music Hall Lawn. make sure to catch their show at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana on Halloween.
