Simba's happy-go-lucky mindset then takes a turn when he once more meets his childhood friend Nala, who shares the plight of the people with him and requests him to overthrow his abusive uncle.

This heartfelt and personal narrative of heartbreak, true friendship, and fearless leadership is enhanced by the original film's music, written by Elton John and Tim Rice. Their original compositions, partnered with added compositions and lyrics from big names like Zimmer, Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, and director Julie Taymor have served as the foundation of the musical not just in the United States, but also in international productions.
